follow a swallow
Some things you should know:
wind will blow and rivers will flow,
flowers will bloom with beauty to show
and one day you and I must go.
Yet, still as plants, we grow
in soft-moist earth previously fallow,
rooting deep or spreading shallow
verdantly leafed, and never sallow.
So, swift as a swallow, fly towards tomorrow!
Open your heart to joy and sorrow,
to midday sun and evening shadow,
then rest in moon’s cool healing glow.
